Civil Engineer from the Universidad Católica de Chile, Master in Public Policy and PhD in Public Policy from the University of California, Berkeley. He also has a Master’s degree in Sociology from the Universidad Católica de Chile. Previously, he served as the National Director of Techo-Chile and as an economist in the Research Department of the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) in Washington D.C. Currently, he is a professor in the Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering at the Universidad Católica de Chile.
In addition, he is general co-editor of the publication “Intersections”. His areas of interest include problems associated with the evaluation of social programs and labor economics, and more recently, topics associated with the economics of crime and criminal justice.
